Certified Nursing Assistant Role at Sturdy Memorial Hospital

Working under the supervision of the RN/LPN and alongside the patient care team, the Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) carries out direct and indirect patient care tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, taking vital signs, performing glucometry, EKG's, weighing patients, and recording Intake/Output data. Additionally, tasks may involve patient transport, restocking supplies, and ensuring efficient unit operations.

Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in patient care
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility
- High school diploma or equivalent and C.N.A. certification required

Training:
- BLS certification required within 2 months of hire

Skills:

  • Proficient in verbal and written English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Commitment to customer relations and quality improvement

Age Specific Criteria: Effective communication with patients of all age groups within assigned areas.

Meeting Job Performance Expectations: Capable of fulfilling job functions safely and effectively, with or without accommodations, without posing a threat to personal or others' safety.
