The primary purpose of this position is to provide paralegal support to the Chief and attorneys in the Air Force Claims Service Center through the adjudication of demands and subrogation cases, legal research, writing legal documents, gathering data, management service, litigation support and alternative dispute resolution through mediation with the carrier industry.

Duties

1.

Serves as a paralegal specialist in the adjudication, negotiation and settlement of subrogation claims and other legal actions asserted against the carrier industry or insurance companies worldwide.


  • Responsible for ensuring that demands against negligent parties are accurate and in accordance with administrative board decisions, contract law, memorandums of understanding, the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Acquisitions Regulations, the Interstate Commerce Act, Carmack Amendment and Debt Collection Act, 31 U.S.C. 3717.
  • Provides paralegal support to staff attorneys for rendering legal advice and preparing non-litigation legal memoranda in support of the Air Force Claims Service Center.
  • Provide alternative dispute resolution through mediation with the carrier industry.
