Job Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Compton Community College District is seeking experienced Culinary Arts Instructors, to establish a pool of qualified applicants for positions as Adjunct Professor, Culinary Arts.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Business and Industrial Studies, the Culinary Arts Instructor provides curriculum and equipment recommendations, develop on-the-job training apprenticeship partnerships, trains and supports students in Culinary Arts program.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Any Bachelor's or higher AND two years of experience in culinary arts/food technology
Any Associate's degree AND six years of experience in culinary arts/food technology
Possesses current ServSafe Managers Certification (or equivalent)
Have Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
Encourage positive race-consciousness and embracing of human differences;
Strategically build support for and participation in equity-related initiatives across both our internal and external communities;
Promote the importance of holding ourselves accountable as educators for closing equity gaps and engaging in equitable practices;
Support institutional practices that both develop and sustain culturally responsive teaching and learning environments.
Three (3) of more years of years of paid teaching experience.
COMPENSATION
HOURLY RANGE:
$ $72.27 (depending upon education and experience)
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District.
Part time teaching assignment(s).
