Job Summary and QualificationsWhat You Will Do in This Role:
- The unit secretary is responsible and accountable for the daily clerical operations of the nursing unit, performs receptionist duties and maintains supplies/equipment for the unit.
- The unit secretary participates in a positive patient experience including supporting RNs in the delivery of patient care items and providing meal companionship to patients.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- High School Diploma
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required upon hire
- Public contact and clerical experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and computer skills required
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and multi-line phone preferred
Centerpoint Medical Center is a 285+ bed hospital featuring state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our hospital offers some of the latest clinical services available to patients. We are an accredited Cancer Program and Breast Center. We provide Women's Services, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a Stroke Center. Our Outpatient Services include a Surgery Center, Advanced Wound Care Center, Pain Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Imaging, and Rehab. We are part of HCA Midwest Health, a network of hospitals in Kansas City and surrounding areas.
