Come be a Goonie Columbia Veterinary Hospital in Astoria, Oregon is offering a private residence as a perk for our next signed on associate The home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with huge shop, 2 car garage, fenced yard ready for your dogs and kids, firepit and jacuzzi, in a great country neighborhood only 15 minutes away from the clinic.

We also provide daycare as a benefit to our staff parents in the downstairs nursery of the clinic with qualified caregivers where you can check on babies, spend lunch, or nurse as needed during your workday.

We are offering a 4 day work week with a competitive salary or 26% commission, whichever is higher.

Additional benefits include full health and dental insurance, CE stipend, licenses paid, 3 weeks PTO, awesome holiday/staff parties, free happy hour at a favorite after work spot downtown, and more.

If you love the house you have the option to continue leasing after the complimentary first year.

Astoria is a lovely town at the mouth of the Columbia River which boasts numerous fun breweries, restaurants, family activities, outdoors fun such as hiking, fishing and hunting, and cool history.

The clinic is 20 minutes from the beach, and less than 2 hours from Portland. Astoria is the location of several films including The Goonies, Free Willy, and Kindergarten Cop. The community is welcoming and has loads of festivals and events.

Our clinic was started over 40 years ago by a wonderful veterinarian who found a special niche in Astoria- a walk in clinic to provide quality care at an affordable price for our community.

Since purchasing the place 12 years ago we have raised the quality of care even more by adding top-notch diagnostics and some fun toys.

Some of the toys are veterinary, some are like the espresso machine with all the fixings and breakfast sandwich maker that makes the clinic smell amazing every morning Most of our staff have been with us for over ten years (some 20+) and we are like a family who cares about each other, jokes, and are flexible to eachothers' needs as far as swapping schedules and making the work-life balance rewarding.

Family and personal health is a top priority.

Mentoring and collaborating are huge for our DVMs as we all love that 2 nd look before a major or mystery diagnosis.

Prior to COVID we renovated our downstairs to be a fully functioning clinic where we planned to provide appointments and vaccine clinics, so now my goal is to have enough DVMs to have both the traditional walk-in upstairs as well as appointments downstairs (it is very pretty), so you have free rein to choose whichever fits your preference or combination.

For those who love or hate surgery it is your call on which and how much you perform.

We give you a day of the week where the surgery schedule is tailored to your preference for caseload and types of procedures.

There is no on-call for your mental health
