Maintenance Worker

One Temporary - NTE 1 year Maintenance Worker position, to be filled in the Facility and Maintenance Department at the Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) in Whiteriver, Arizona. The incumbent will assist higher level maintenance workers in a variety of simple and routine tasks in the maintenance and repair of Clinic facilities and government quarters. The incumbent will be supervised by Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Management Department, WRSU.

• Assists in a variety of simple and routine tasks which require the application of basic trades/crafts knowledge.
• Assists in installing sinks, lavatories, bath tubs, showers, or hot water heaters and maintains waste disposal systems by clearing clogs or stoppages in sewer lines, drain pipes, or fixtures with hand augers, and auger machines.
• Assist in framing new structures or modifying existing structures; prepares and paints interior and exterior surfaces such as wood, metal, concrete, or drywall for clinic facilities and government quarters; prepares sidewalks, pads, and ramps with shovels crow bars, picks or rakes; performs labor duties such as gardening ground keeping, routine trash pickup, shoveling snow, supply delivery, cleaning emergency generators, and reading gas meters.
