Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC

The Louis A Johnson provides comprehensive Gynecologic care to veterans and active-duty service-members and their dependents. The Gynecologist is assigned to the Department of Surgery and provide primarily consultative care in addition to preventative gynecologic care. Additionally, the Gynecologist work side by side with a Women's Health Nurse. The incumbent will serve as the Women s Health Medical Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Physician will provide consultation services and follow up of gynecology patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings.Attend to patients in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, emergency department, and telehealth clinic.Abnormal cervical cytology evaluation and treatment including Colposcopy with or without cervical biopsy to include LEEP.Amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, menorrhagia, and abnormal uterine bleeding evaluation treatment and management.Care of benign gynecologic conditions.Contraception counseling with medical comorbidities and management including insertion/placement/renewal/ removal of IUD.Disorders of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries Vulvar BX.Establish professional working relationships with clinical service providers within the medical center and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).Required to participate in the education of medical students and residents. EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract.

Excellent work schedule: Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with potential for telework call, however, subject to change, depending upon the needs of the service/medical center
