Head of Analytics

Location: Remote in North America

Salary Range: $225-250k base + stock options

What we are looking for

The Head of Analytics will be responsible for leading a team of business analysts and play a critical role in driving the development and execution of our analytics strategy. We generate millions of data points every minute that we utilize to help our clients optimize their store operations. Reporting to the VP of Product, you will work very closely with our Product, Operations, GTM and Deep Learning teams.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of business analysts providing guidance, support, and ongoing professional development
• Act as a strategic partner to the VP of Product and Focal executives; initiate and lead data-driven analyses to help prioritize opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead the end-to-end project management of analytics initiatives, including scoping, planning, execution, and evaluation
• Identify data, metrics and analysis needs; Initiate, develop and maintain data pipelines and data models that power dashboards and data products with outstanding craftsmanship
• Synthesize data findings into compelling stories and communicate them throughout Focal Systems
• Work to drive new data initiatives, automation of reports, and establish best practices
• Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration

What you need to be successful

• BS and MS degree, preferably in Engineering, Math, Stats, CS or related with 8+ years work experience and 4+ years' experience managing people and processes
• Experience building and leading a data analytics department from scratch
• Proven ability to manage complex data analysis
• Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills
• Experience with data analytics/business intelligence tools
• Deep experience with SQL; knowledge of Python
• Recent startup experience; align with our values & mission; team player
