Utilize the nursing process to identify problems and generate nursing diagnoses, design a plan of care, implement nursing orders, evaluate interventions based upon the patient's response to care, document patients' status and revise plan of care.
Educate patient and family members regarding the disease process, treatment modalities, use of equipment related to disease/care, expected and possible adverse reactions to medications, discharge planning, health maintenance and illness prevention.
Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory and intravenous routes.Develop and present classes related to psychiatric/behavioral health nursing to enhance the knowledge base of peers and subordinates.
