Please note: This position follows a 4-day work week schedule (10 hour shifts). Team members will have a fixed schedule, however, in order to be considered for the position all candidates must be available for both shifts: 4am-2:30pm and 5am-3:30pm MT.

This individual is responsible for providing production support and Team supervision under the direction of the Team Leader. This includes daily "on the floor" management (workflow, team member duties, production scheduling, communication with other teams) in order to meet production demands. This individual will also promote a safe, clean, and efficient roasting environment under guidance from leadership. The Roasting Supervisor will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the coffee industry on subjects such as roasting, quality control, green coffee management, and coffee cultivation and processing methods at Origin.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for working with ATL and TL in supervising and executing daily production schedules.
  • Perform duties needed to meet daily demands which may require roasting, machine operation of production support.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and exemplary safety performance by following Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines, OSHA Safety standards and applicable health codes at all times.
  • Ensure quality and production SOPs are adhered to by the team.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and new hires regarding all job functions, production processes and equipment and safety requirements.
  • Based on production schedules, creates and prints WOs for Coffee Production.
  • Performs any data entry required for X3 that cannot be performed on the floor.
  • Participates in coffee cuppings, team trainings, and roasting trainings.
  • Engages in green and roasted coffee analysis to ensure quality standards.
    • Guide and supervise the team in the absence of ATL or TL.
    • Assists on the floor as needed and directed by Leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Associate Team Leader, or Facility Leadership.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum one year's experience in food production with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong mechanical abilities and experience operating machinery is preferred.
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of products, packaging requirements, and schedules.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility to meet quickly changing production schedules and job assignments.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to visually examine products or labels for quality and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess good computer skills.
  • Must possess excellent record keeping, math, filing and organizational skills.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and analytically inclined.
  • Must have flexibility and self-motivation to take on new projects as assigned.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Regularly getting on and off powered equipment, stepping on and off throughout shift
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Ability to read, write and understand basic English
  • Early morning shifts starting at 4:00am and 5:00am*
  • 4-day work week with 8 – 12 hour shifts*
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Unassisted heavy lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Work in warm temperature due to heat of Roaster
  • Mandatory use of required personal protective equipment
  • Repetition or sequence of duties
  • Use of box cutters

The wage range for this position is $ $35.51 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
