About the Position: Serves as a machinist assigned to the Marietta Repair Station located in Marietta, OH. The position is part of a traveling fleet/repair party unit that is under the command of the Regional Rivers Repair Fleet in the Huntington District.



Duties
  • Help maintain all machine ship equipment and tools in a clean, safe, and functional working order.
  • Use quantitative analysis to determine solutions to technical problems.
  • Plan and layout work from blueprints, worksheets, and drawings that may have missing or incorrect information.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Grind and sharpen tools, jigs, and fixtures required to achieve specific dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
