BASIC FUNCTION: The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing payroll for the Resort, and assisting with the administrative payroll functions that affect the efficient operation of the Payroll Department, while consistently demonstrating a high level of customer service and representing the company in a friendly and professional manner. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of company policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Two years previous payroll experience preferred.
MS Office applications experience required.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Must work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
Must have the ability to effectively interact with customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for assisting in accurately processing, reviewing and transmitting payroll as applicable.
Sets up and maintains files and records including but not limited to PTO authorizations, holiday and special pay requests, and resolving discrepancies.
Operates fax, phone system, ten key and photocopy machine.
Photocopies and appropriately files information to include payroll and related paperwork and correspondence.
Ensures that strict confidentiality is kept in all matters relating to employee information and employee related issues.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Assists employees with any questions or problems concerning payroll issues.
Coordinates with auditors and third party vendors for governmental agency or legal compliance issues.
Adheres to legal guidelines and procedures for garnishments or other agency initiated payroll deductions.
Performs payroll functions, transmissions, and compliance in a timely fashion with a minimal number of corrections or omissions.
Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Attends all necessary training meetings.
