Summary

The Pharmacy Technician (Outpatient) is located at
Adam Benjamin Jr (ABJ) CBOC and function in various areas of the pharmacy, e.g. outpatient pharmacy, and can involve providing services related to inpatients and/or ambulatory patients; processing and filling outpatient prescriptions for scheduled and non-scheduled federal legend drugs and medical devices, over-the-counter products and supply items and perform other functions.

Duties

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:


Monitors and analyzes orders and distribution patterns to identify questionable circumstances or unusual trends (such as waste, fraud, diversion or abuse).

Communicates potential problems to appropriate supervisor(s) immediately.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:


Assists in identifying and reporting developmental and training needs to ensure safety and quality control in the delivery of drug products.

Assists with the training, orientation, and re-training of employees on Pharmacy Service policies and procedures.


Assists Outpatient pharmacy supervisor in assuring that all employees in the pharmacy receive on-the-job training and are aware of policies and procedures, and re-train those employees exhibiting deficiencies.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday with rotating shifts: 7:30am - 4:00pm.

8:00am - 4:30pm, and 8:30am - 5:00pm
