Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: Support the day to day activity of the accounting department, especially in the area of general ledger. Perform responsibilities timely, accurately and efficiently to produce reliable financial statements by management's deadlines. Acquire understanding of each general ledger account and computer system to ensure that hospital/departmental policies are being enforced.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare for review of all RJ's 4 days before closing. (Fixed RJ's by the 1st of each month.)
  • Month-end account analysis as requested by Assistant Controller.
  • Support Assistant Controller on special analysis.
  • Accurately prepares all E&Y and Tax work-papers assigned at year end per timetable.
  • Maintain proficiency in the Accounts Payable section; assist Assistant Controller as needed.
  • Maintain all General Ledger reports and backup.
  • Monitor all assigned liability accounts for debit balances.
  • Provide CFO with month-end Board reports.
  • Provide worksheets for AHCA reporting to consultants.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 1-3 years of experience preferably in a hospital setting
  • Ability to manage stress in a face-paced environment

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221-bed acute care hospital. We serve the communities of Seminole and West Volusia County. At HCA Healthcare, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We provide the only full-service cardiovascular program. Our program offers open-heart surgery and interventional cardiology. Electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and comprehensive diagnostic services are also offered by this program. Other services that we provide include orthopedic and spine care, as well as robotic surgery. We offer acute inpatient medical rehabilitation and complete imaging services.
