Biological Science Technician

The major duties of the Biological Science Technician position include, but are not limited to the following:
Collect plant and soil data from remote sites across national park units in AZ, NM and TX. Identify all perennial plants to species using Latin binomials. Carefully follow established protocols.

Manage data throughout the life cycle, from pre-season preparation through active field data collection and season close-out including certification procedures.

Maintain equipment and electronic data collection and navigation devices.

Lead, train and oversee the work of a team of 3-4 members both in an office and field setting.

Provide leadership and mentorship for data collection, data management and safety protocols.

Coordinate logistics such as daily and weekly work schedules, housing and camping arrangements, email communications to park staff, gear organization or purchase, and basic vehicle maintenance.

Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
