Job Description

As an Associate Director in our Global Decision Sciences and Insights team, you are responsible for supporting forecasting and analytics for Gilead's Breast cancer portfolio, as well as other oncology needs, as they arise. This role will include forecasting, advanced analytics, and market research. This position will support the commercialization efforts to inform launch execution, lifecycle management and key product/disease area strategies. The role will report to the Senior Director, Oncology Global Decision Sciences and Insights (Breast Cancer).

Essential Duties & Functions

The following duties/functions are representative of the key duties and will be primary focused in Breast Cancer and could include potential pipeline indications; all activities will require strong partnership and engagement with GDSI/GSM leadership.

Market Research
Partner with Senior Director, Integrated Insights and Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) leadership to define global market research priorities to proactively inform upcoming business decisionsLead qualitative and quantitative primary research across physician, patient, and payer groupsAnalyze, synthesize, and guide the organization based on market insights Analyze secondary data sources (e.g., script data, epidemiology data) to produce summaries, and insights/implications, and evaluate potential new sourcesExamples of work can include but are not limited to opportunity assessments, treatment flow mapping, segmentation, product attribute/benefit testing, positioning/messaging, patient journey mapping, HCP journey mapping, etc.

Forecasting/Analytics
Develop and maintain long-term forecast models for key products/indications, including forecasts of epidemiology, competitive market, product share, price, and revenueCollaborate with Regional and Local Analytics & Insight teams, as well as Literature Resources, Competitive Intelligence, R&D, Pricing and Market Access, and Marketing/Sales leads to identify and include quality data assumptions into forecasting modelsCarry out deterministic base-case and scenario modeling and Monte Carlo simulation to support decision-makingWork with affiliate markets to scope, design, and manage the execution of quantitative market research (e.g., discrete-choice conjoint) to inform revenue forecasting via predictive patient share modelingExamples of decisions that may be informed by analytics include scenario planning for various competitive outcomes, impacts of growth strategy, impact of co-positioning of various oncology products, etc.

Knowledge, Experience, & Skills
Business leadership experience, and a track record of "influencing without authority" (specifically, senior cross-functional partners) in successful conflict resolution, and driving consensusStrong leadership acumen, demonstrated through relationships with stakeholders, peers and teamsExperience in successfully presenting to senior leadership audiences, including simplifying complex materials, and managing audiences with differing viewpoints to gain alignmentExperience working in a matrixed organization and successfully partnering with peers and stakeholdersAbility to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required. Proven experience with global Sales and Marketing organizations and experience with pharmaceutical data sources e.g., IQVIA/IMS, SHA and chart audits are requiredExperience in conducting commercial analytics and proactively identifying analyses to address key business questionsExperience in conducting qualitative/quantitate market research and patient-based market/revenue modelingStrong task- and project-management skills: planning, prioritization, objective setting, and executionHistory of navigating multiple projects with tight deadlines and evolving prioritiesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsPassionate about the function, and a natural curiosity to solve complex problemsAbility to effectively leverage Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Excel) to present quantitative data in graphical form is required
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years' Experience

OR

Master's Degree and Eight Years' Experience

OR

Ph.D. and Two Years' Experience

The salary range for this position is: $191, $247, Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
