What Is the Opportunity?

The Sr Lead, UI/UX Engineer leads and mentors a team of UI/UX engineers, providing technical guidance in designing scalable and maintainable UI solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate design concepts into functional interfaces. They also architect reusable UI components, support other development teams with expertise, and stay updated on UI/UX trends. They conduct code reviews, optimize performance, and work closely with product managers and QA engineers to prototype and test UI/UX solutions. Additionally, they continuously improve development processes, demonstrating strong work ethics and attention to detail.

What will you do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of UI/UX developers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality work.
  • Architect and provide leadership in designing scalable and maintainable UI/UX solutions, addressing complex requirements ensuring alignment with overall system architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and backend engineers, to translate design concepts and requirements into functional user interfaces.
  • Architect and implement reusable UI components and libraries to streamline development and ensure consistency across applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to other development teams, offering expertise on UI best practices, performance optimization, and architectural design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and best practices, and advocate for their adoption within the team. Continuously evaluate and improve the UI development process, tools, and workflows to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain code quality standards, and enforce UI/UX development best practices.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure scalability by implementing efficient rendering techniques and optimizing front-end code.
  • Work closely with product managers to understand user needs and iterate on UI/UX designs based on user feedback and usability testing. Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure the quality and reliability of the UI/UX components and features.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • 4 year degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility in application development, UX design or similar roles
  • 5+ years of demonstrated and sound managerial experience leading and developing a team
  • Advanced knowledge SDLC systems, UX design practices, Enterprise UX Framework Development & management, agile development process and change management.
  • Advanced understanding of UI/UX principles, front end design and proficiency in working with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, , , etc.
  • Good understanding of backend frameworks (PHP, NodeJS etc.)

Nice to have

  • Ability to impact and influence Senior Leaders and functional partners (e.g., Tech, Compliance, Project Delivery, UX Design leaders) in a highly complex, matrixed, global environment. Strong knowledge of the wealth management / asset management industry and/or operations would be preferred
  • Proficient with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe, etc.
  • Results oriented- executing goals within timelines and at acceptable risk levels. Possess advanced problem identification, analytical and resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, working in partnerships to create effective outcomes on several concurrent initiatives.
  • Able to coach, develop and transfer knowledge to others, embraces change and leads by example
