Must be W2 Candidate: The Forward Deploy team are a team of technology resources who are experts in infrastructure capabilities, with the partnership skills to work closely with stakeholders.

The Forward Deploy:

Is a focal point for knowledge of specific and / or overall Enterprise infrastructure technology and industry trends

Collaborates with the broader Engineering leadership team to develop and implement strategic initiatives and provide proactive professional and strategic advice to Technology & Operations (T&O) and LOB executives

Ensures that the LOB direction falls within overall Engineering planning, design, and integration strategies, and that benefits of new and emerging technology capabilities are communicated back to CIO and LOB executives

Partner with our CIO partners to help accelerate the adoption to the Cloud

Mission Statement

A trusted partner to the CIO community, providing integrated engineering guidance from concept through to solution design and delivery. We will listen closely to business requirements, and align them to the standards-based technology catalogue (or find the right solution when required), to enable the timely delivery of high quality, cost effective solutions that enable the Bank to define great customer experience.

This is NOT a hands on role. You will represent Engineering to the LOB CIO, and for any infrastructure or cloud or engineering engagement, you will find the solution, engage whatever tech teams in Engineering are needed to provide estimation, and facilitate. For example, if the CIO says the have a new initiative, you will engage the right areas of engineering, provide solution arch diagram (you only do the conceptual infra diagram, which is a very small part of the solution arch diagram), put together conceptual infra diagram, what infra changes are needed, and provide an order of magnitude estimate showing costs, what approval needs to happen and sit in tech review boards of CIO partners representing engineering. If cloud involved, engage cloud engineering team so they can assign a cloud developer to the project., etc. Participate in tech review forums, gating forums, regular touchpoints with internal partners. The role is a mixture of infra sol arch, relationship manager. You are not running projects or managing budgets.

Accountabilities

Advise CIOs about Technology Roadmaps and Technology Capabilities (Stacks & Patterns, Standards)

Create Cost Estimates for Projects and new Bank Technology Applications

Support Changes to deployed Technology Applications

Communicate to CIO partners emerging technologies, such as the Hybrid Cloud, and help them prepare for adoption

Communicates LOB technology directions to executives and business partners across T&O in order to share information on the business direction and assist them in meeting client needs

Provides Engineering platform specific technical guidance and counsel to LOB contacts and project teams (large scale/broad impacting initiatives) to ensure alignment with industry trends and internal infrastructure strategies

Participates as a member of Engineering Senior Management and / or Executive Team in order to provide technology leadership in discussions, as well as to be kept informed of initiatives across the Senior Management / Executive's other areas of responsibility

Provides expert counsel to Engineering executive(s) and LOB management to resolve conflict arising from technical issues

Develops and maintains strong working relationships with IT vendors to influence product direction in support of Bank strategic direction

Builds, sustains and leverages professional relationships and people networks with many internal and external organizations to stay abreast of industry standards and areas for improvement.

Understands and follows security processes and understands how they apply to this role

Contributes to overall business results by making recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Coordinates closely with partner teams in IT Operations and DevOps to ensure an integrated solution approach that 'protects' the solution in production

Provides coaching and professional development to team-members in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills

Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities within lines of business. Collaborates with Engineering to ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and advanced

Knowledge And Skills

Knowledge:

Possesses a university degree / college diploma in related discipline(s) or equivalent work experience, and/or 10 – 15 years in IT industry experience, strong infrastructure experience, including cloud, specifically AWS.

Has experience in working with technical teams and in dealing with LOB and senior management

Displays advanced LOB specific business knowledge (ie., client's business products, services & organization) and advanced / expert knowledge of related infrastructure technology industry, products and processes

Demonstrates experience in landing business requirements on defined technology standards and determining the right solutions where required

Understand concepts of how the cloud works, how connectivity to cloud works, read basic cloud diagram, etc.

Skills:

Derives satisfaction from successful business partners

Track record of navigating and integrating complex organizations on behalf of partners

Knows how to build a lasting partnership with key stakeholders, building the trust necessary to be engaged early, and actively listen at the right times, to build the right solution the first time

Possesses advanced presentation and communication skills, both oral and written

Demonstrates advanced relationship management skills with ability to influence at senior / executive levels

Demonstrates experience in project management (not formerly as a PM)

Illustrates advanced developed analytical & research skills

Advanced ability to manage resources in a matrix environment

Maintains advanced coaching skills

Exhibits advanced strategic visioning and planning skills

Exhibits solid financial analysis skills
