Job Summary

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced part-time CFO to join our team Please note this will be a contract position.

The part-time CFO at iF will be working closely with the CEO and President for financial updates thought-leadership and the Director of Operations and iF's Accountant for month end close and reporting support.

In this role, we are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced across 3 key areas:
    • Tenured CFO with related professional services experience with similar sized orgs, strategic thought partner
    • FP&A / Reporting / Modeling / Systems integration
    • Controller / Senior Accountant
  • A mix of flexible and collaborative while comfortable sharing a variety of insights
  • A creative and collaborative problem-solver

The day to day of the job entails:

1. Strategic Support for Business - Support CEO and President and other members of senior team with the management of business, including:

  • Report on and develop actionable insights related to business fundamentals and practices (e.g., rate card, practice goals and metrics, declared and realized utilization).
  • Proactively identify and frame critical decisions we need to make as a business.
  • Strategic conversation about month-end close.
  • Advise on maximizing our enterprise value.
  • Understand the business and its goals to identify and discuss the company's strengths, challenges, and gaps.
  • Perform financial analysis of numbers generated to be able to call attention to what may not be supporting the company's goals.
  • Support the understanding and improvement of operations and company profitability.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Modeling:

  • Oversee a clean, accurate reporting process.
  • Run the budgeting and forecasting process working with all pertinent areas and under guidance of CEO, President and Head of Operations.
  • Develop / Revamp templates that can be used going forward.

3. Month-end process & Accounting Procedures:

  • Process Review, Redesign and Implementation: review the process in place (if any), redesign where needed and most importantly work with the internal team to put it in place in the most efficient manner.
  • Month-end: put in place a process to close month within five (5) business days. Have monthly discussions with management for analysis of results, trends, etc.
  • Work with all the applicable departments and employees to put processes in place (including optimization of system generated information and training to employees when needed).

Qualifications / Ideal Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the above activities
  • Experience and access to experts in the consulting/services arena, manage growth in a healthy way (not too fast, too slow, in the right areas).
  • Prior experience with QBO and Excel required
  • Prior experience with Harvest, HubSpot, Parallax, Paylocity a plus
