Staff Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing assistance in establishing a month end close process that ensures timely and accurate financial reporting throughout the organization. The Staff Accountant will be supporting the Director of Accounting in all necessary tasks to ensure all accounting functions are properly carried out.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly accounting entries including leases, accruals & prepayments
  • Preparation of payroll journals and payroll reconciliations
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Preparation of IC Reconciliations and variance investigation
  • Preparation of Bank Reconciliations
  • Preparation of revenue schedules and reconciliations.
  • Monthly P&L review and analysis
  • Preparation of Software Capitalization schedules
  • Assist with processing of AP invoices
  • Assist in annual external audits with preparation of requested documentation
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly bank covenants
  • Backup other finance department duties as needed and engage in special projects as assigned

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
  • 1-3 years' experience in Accounting role
  • SAP Business ByDesign experience, a plus.
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Prior experience within a professional services organization preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to educate and support colleagues and clients

Location: Boston, MA preferred

Our offices utilize a hybrid work model and this role will be expected to be in the office on a regular basis.
