IT Architect Specialist – MBP Cloud Architecture & Engineering

About the team:

FIS Modern Banking Platform (MBP) is cloud-enabled, componentized, container-based processing solution designed with API-first functionality. Plug-and-play components provides a multitude of configurable features for banks to have flexibility and speed to innovate into the future. The cloud first Java-based solution is purpose-built for next generation modern banking, designed to meet the unique business and product needs of individual retail and commercial financial organizations across all lines of business.

The FIS Modern Banking Platform Cloud Architecture & Engineering Team is responsible for the design, engineering, and support of FIS Modern Banking Platform in Public Cloud, used to power our Modern Banking Platform SaaS offering which is then deployed by and for other teams across the globe to use.

What you will be doing

• Technical SME and primary ownership of Cloud Architecture & Engineering team related issues for project/implementation teams and environments
• Act as Cloud SME and primary contact with client counterparts.
• Work with product development organization to assimilate product release notes and other product related artifacts for application deployments.
• Assist implementation project teams.
• Progression of JIRA backlog items in Agile sprints.
• Development and customization of CI/CD Toolchains and support
• Finding which tech solution is the best for the solution of current business problems.
• Post implementation 3rd line support investigations.
• Design and execute proof of concept (POC) and proof of value (POV) efforts to efficiently test out improvement ideas.
• Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve technical risks and issues.
• Proactively report status of all in progress initiatives.
• Interface with stakeholders at several levels, from executive management to technical staff
• Support Pre-Sales initiatives and provide MBP SaaS/Public Cloud related content for RFI/RFP response input, customer presentations, meetings, etc.
• Any other Cloud/Solution Architecture related duties as required.

• Ability to apply creative problem solving techniques and tools to compliance issues

• Ability to provide information to a variety of audiences and deal effectively with confidential issues that are sensitive in nature

• Ability to share information with awareness of its effect on others
- Ability to help develop and mentor other members of the team in order to strength the team
- Ability to gather functional and non-functional requirements for new pieces of work.
- Ability to produce documentation, designs (using, but not limited to, tooling like Visio, Draw.IO, Whiteboarding) and design decisions (showing pros and cons) for discussion.
- Ability to guide and extract any information that you feel is also required, that hasn't been imparted. - - As an SME with experience in architecting solutions, you will have good knowledge of what these would be. As thinking about future impact when architecting solution, to ensure it can scale with minimal disruption to service.
- Knowledge of working with the Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF) would be an advantage.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Experience Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Azure, ideally certified to expect level is considered essential. Ideally have also achieved AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as Cloud Architect, Solution Architect, System Designer or Technical Lead for more than 5 years.
• Three or more years working in a distributed and heterogeneous computing environment (ZOS, UNIX, Windows)
• Three or more years demonstrated experience in working with relational (and/or hierarchical) databases (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc.)
• Three or more years demonstrated experience in working with Azure Networking services.
• Three or more years demonstrated experience in working with Azure Monitoring services.
• Three or more years demonstrated experience in modern software application technologies.
• Experience in the design and implementation of robust and scalable infrastructure architectures.
• Experience of working with DevOps tooling including: Bitbucket, Jira, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, TeamCity, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, HashiStack (Terraform, Vault, Consul), CloudFormation, ELK, Prometheus, Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Tivoli/Smart Cloud.
• Experience working with Terraform Enterprise and Kubernetes (preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS))
• Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery process and testing in Public Cloud
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.
