Job Description

Job Title: Director of SAP Quality Management

Position Overview: The Director of Quality Management will lead a global matrixed team of Quality Site Leads responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance (QA) workstream for SAP ERP and the SAP Batch Release Hub product. This individual will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the QA roadmap, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise in SAP ERP and Batch Release Hub, and a strategic mindset to shape the long-term direction of QA initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a matrixed team of Quality Site Leads located across multiple global sites.Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the QA organization.Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
2. Strategic Planning and Roadmap Execution:
Develop and implement the QA roadmap for SAP ERP and Batch Release Hub, aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Identify key priorities, initiatives, and milestones to drive continuous improvement in quality management processes.Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate QA strategies into broader business initiatives.
3. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Establish and enforce quality standards, policies, and procedures for SAP ERP and Batch Release Hub.Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.Drive initiatives to address gaps, mitigate risks, and improve overall quality performance.
4. Master Data Management:
Oversee the QA master data management team responsible for maintaining data integrity and accuracy within SAP ERP.Develop strategies to streamline master data processes, enhance data governance, and optimize data quality.
5. Problem Solving and Innovativeness:
Develop innovative solutions to complex problems in SAP ERP and Batch Release Hub management, leveraging deep expertise and creativity.Drive the development of new applications and techniques based on professional principles and theories, positioning the organization as a leader in quality management practices.
6. Discretion and Impact:
Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives, with assignments being self-initiated and requiring minimal direct supervision.Make decisions that significantly impact the financial, employee, and public relations posture of the organization, with the potential to serve as precedents for future decisions.
7. Liaison and Influence:
Serve as a consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on significant matters related to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives, both internally and externally.Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including IT, Operations, Compliance, and Quality Assurance teams.Collaborate cross-functionally to drive alignment, resolve issues, and support the successful implementation of QA initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 12+ years of experience; advanced degree (MS/MA or MBA) preferred with 10+ years of experience.Viewed as an expert in the field within the corporation, demonstrating a deep understanding of SAP ERP and Batch Release Hub.Proven leadership experience, including managing global teams and driving organizational change.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.Strategic mindset with a track record of developing and executing successful QA strategies.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results in complex, cross-functional initiatives.

The salary range for this position is: $205, $266, Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
