Position Highlights

- Performs age-appropriate physical assessments, evaluation, and treatment
- Takes history, including chief complaint, presenting illness, past medical history, and interval history. Performs age-appropriate physical exam as it relates to chief complaint
- Orders lab studies when indicated. Identifies differential diagnosis. Assesses severity of patient's illness and establishes need/time for patient evaluation
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical in order to establish a diagnosis. Performs tests and procedures as directed by diagnosis
- Establishes age-appropriate plan of care related to patient's identified problem, including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc.
- Consults with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary
- Implements plan in safe and effective manner. Utilizes sound judgment in the establishment of priorities in patient's care and management. Records visit in concise, clear, logical manner
- Evaluates need and/or time for follow-up and document
- Makes and arranges appropriate referrals when necessary
- Evaluates effectiveness of previously implemented medical treatment
- Develops and provides educational materials and/or programs to patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- National Board Certification
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts board of registration in Nursing
- Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, Masters level preferred
- Maintains BLS certification, professional certification as appropriate
- 1-2 years Dermatology work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience
- Experience working within a Team Care model
- Fluency in EMR systems & technology
