The HVAC Technician will perform a variety of work in HVAC and general maintenance and repairs to buildings, facilities, and equipment.

Position Summary:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine maintenance on HVAC units, troubleshoot, install, repair, and replace when needed. Conduct HVAC inspections and change filters as needed. Repair and maintain buildings. Complete set-ups and tear down for scheduled campus events. Perform general maintenance using basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, appliance repair, and electrical wiring. Operate and maintain tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.

Remove snow with shovels, blowers, and plows when necessary. Provide logistical support for campus activities and maintain a campus environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Assist fire drill, lockdown, and other safety exercises. Assist in managing traffic flow and parking throughout campus. Perform on call duties as needed/assigned

Qualifications:

High school or equivalent (Required) 3 years of HVAC

Experience:

______ 3 years of experience in general maintenance 3 years of experience in one or more building trade Experience in CMMS software program(s) Experience in operating Building Automation/Energy Management Systems


HVAC/R Certification Refrigerant License Membership in related professional organization(s) desirable Must submit to a Motor Vehicle Check and maintain a valid driver's license.

Possess a high level of discretion and the ability to problem solve and think quickly on your feet. Enjoy working independently and within a team structure. Flexible, dependable and takes ownership of work. Possess time management,
communication
, and organizational skills.

Must be
flexible, friendly, and able to handle difficult situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to
walk for long periods of time around campus

Ability to
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Work from ladders Climb stairs Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl Work in an outdoor environment, with exposure to inclement weather and varying temperatures Sit at a desk working on a computer
