Horizon Resources is hiring a Sales Agronomist in Fairview, MT to ensure our customers maximize their crop yields and farm efficiency through our products. In this role you will work closely with growers as their trusted consultant throughout the growing season. When not in the office, you will be hands-on walking fields with customers, crop scouting, soil sampling, attending grower meetings, and advising our customers on the products to best fit their needs.

Horizon Resources is a farmer-owned cooperative in Montana and North Dakota. We have Agronomy, Energy, Feed, Grain, and Retail divisions. Our roots go back to 1929, when Farmers Union Oil Company of Williston commenced business operations. Our Agronomy team, with over 6 locations, is committed to customer service. What you will be doing
  • Make sales calls to determine agronomy needs, create solutions and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, fertilizer, ag chemicals and agronomy services.
  • Maintain a current book of business while also driving new sales through prospecting
  • Keep current on agronomic products, trends, problems, services, and resources
  • Work closely with internal team
  • Effectively network with industry partners to enhance sales opportunities
  • Establish relationships with customers by providing recommendations based on agronomic needs
  • Schedule and pull soil samples on customers fields as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2+ years' experience and/or knowledge of agronomy and fertility preferred
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, and outstanding work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals
  • Dedication to delivering results
