Summary

This position is located in the Contracts & Leasing Group, which provides legal advice, counsel, and guidance in connection with the formation, award, defense, and administration of contracting and procurement actions for the FDIC.

Duties
  • Provides legal advice regarding corporate leases including: (i) the drafting, award and administration of all corporate leases on behalf of the FDIC administered by the Corporate Services Branch of DOA; (ii) field office leases; (iii) corporate facilities matters, including property tax appeals; (iv) general real estate issues, and (v) FDIC's foreclosure policy with respect to 12 U.S.C. 1825(b).
  • Prepares and oversees the preparation of contracts for the acquisition of goods and services. Prepares and continually monitors and evaluates the FDIC's standard contract documents, assisting and advising the Division of Administration (DOA) with updating these documents on an as-needed basis.
  • Advises the principal attorney in charge of preparing and presenting leasing or real estate-related cases in litigation.
  • Advises Corporation executives, senior managers, supervisors and staff on a variety of leasing and contract-related issues and assists the DOA or designee along with Regional Director and regional managers on matters arising from the Acquisition Services Branch and the Corporate Services Branch.
  • Participates in briefing Dallas Audit Review Committee.
  • Reviews and evaluates legal documents and provides interpretation of policies and procedures related to the FDIC's contracting, leasing, facilities management programs, and leasing delegations of authority, and is responsible for determining the best course of action for the Corporation relating to these matters.
