Peterson Smith Equine Hospital + Complete Care is seeking to add a full-time ambulatory veterinarian to our team . We are a well-established practice located centrally in the "Horse Capital of the World," Ocala, Florida. Our practice is 100% equine based with a wide variety of clientele ranging from first-time horse owners to large thoroughbred operations. This allows optimal opportunities to advance and develop as an equine practitioner.

Our team consists of a 13-doctor ambulatory team along with a fully staffed Equine Hospital and Advanced Fertility Center. Mentorship opportunities are abundant within our practice given the wide variety of clinicians and specialists on board. These include board certified surgeons, podiatrist, internist, theriogenologist, criticalist, ophthalmologist, and dental specialist. We currently provide routine care, emergency, reproductive, sport medicine and dentistry services on an ambulatory basis. Our ambulatory team has an array of practitioners with varying interests and advanced training. We share a rotating on call emergency schedule, with relief ambulatory emergency veterinarians supporting the team. Currently, our associates are on call 1 day a week and one weekend every 5 weeks. Two veterinarians are on call at all times.

All ambulatory practitioners are assisted by a full-time ambulatory technician and are equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopes, dental equipment, access to portable centrifuges, piezo shockwave, and class IV laser. Our facilities include a full-time laboratory staff with in-house bloodwork/microbiology capabilities as well as an onsite pharmacy. Advanced imaging modalities include: Qalibra Canon Aquilion CT, nuclear scintigraphy, video endoscopy and gastroscopy.
