Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Our main campus provides primary care and specialty health services, including mental health care, women's health services, prosthetics, eye care (ophthalmology), treatment for spinal cord injury, foot care, programs to help you stop smoking and using tobacco, and more. We are currently seeking a full-time Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician for our Geriatric Service Line.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The incumbent is responsible for providing PM&R services within Kansas City VA Medical Center facility. The physician may be asked to provide care in multiple areas within PM&R including but not limited to EMGs, Amputee Clinic, General Rehab Clinic, PRP clinic, SCI clinic, and other areas as needed, but all within the KCVA main location.

Duties which may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Staff within PM&R are ultimately responsible for all aspects of PM&R care which includes the forementioned clinical services as well as consult reviews for appropriateness, and chart reviews for internal as well as external Acute Medical Rehabilitation admission appropriateness.
  • A PM&R provider is responsible to coordinate care with providers within PM&R dedicating care to treat pain, including Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies, chiropractic, acupuncture, and pain psychology, as determined by plan of care for the veteran. Open, clear, and collaborative engagements are an emphasized duty.
