We are seeking a Senior Raw Materials Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing raw material changes, developing alternative / second source raw materials, defining critical to performance parameters, and implementing new technologies for raw material improvement. Your Key Responsibilities: Develop innovative approaches to new raw material characterization (CTF), synthesis, and processing in collaboration with internal R&D and external raw material suppliers.

Characterization includes being able to run lab scale reaction trialsWork with stage gate team to develop design FMEA for products with new raw materialsWork with R&D and suppliers to identify key ISQ tools for incoming raw material testing to improve manufacturing capability and product cost. .Assess current raw materials and recommend improvements/updates based on available Most Effective Technology (MET) for applications of mixing, filtration, processing, and metals reduction.

Review and assess terminal buy products for replacement of raw material and design qualification parameters to test Review Request for Sourcing raw materials to select raw materials and design qualification parameters to testImplement preventative and corrective modifications to raw material products that are part of stage gate or recently commercialized based on the findings of root cause analysesDesign and analyze accelerated shelf-life studies. Provide technical expertise to manufacturing operations to maintain production performance or restore process capabilityRepresent the company during interactions with customers and suppliers regarding raw material qualityEstablish quality requirements for raw materials/ testing processesCommunicate results and progress to technical teams, management, and business leadership through written report and oral presentationsDemonstrate behaviors that exemplify DuPont's Core Values: Safety and Health, Respect for People, Highest Ethical Behaviors, and Protecting the Planet Your Qualification Profile: Ph. D. in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related disciplinesMinimum of 3 years product R&D experience with a successful customer engagement and product development record.5 years of experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing or lab environmentFormulating with polymeric system is preferred.

Experience with raw material supplier management is a plusStrong background in polymer technology with proven record in synthesis and material developmentExperience in the semiconductor, specialty chemical or pharmaceutical industriesDemonstrated ability to examine structure-property relationships of polymer formulationsStrong analytical and critical thinking with the ability to make data driven decisions and actionable recommendationsStrong project management skills and ability to execute complex projects and navigate multiple priorities. Familiarity with a variety of analytical techniques, such as NMR, GPC, FT-IR, SEM, DMA, TGS, DSC, etc. Successful candidate should have strong collaborative R&D mindsetDemonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment building strong relationships, and driving resultsStrong analytical skills, with experience in using data to identify issues, implement solutions, and track progressWorking knowledge of Quality management skills such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, Six-sigma and use of statistical software such as JMP.
