About Heidt Veterinary Hospital:
We are looking for a well-rounded Associate Veterinarian to join our busy, long-established practice in Lima, OH. Heidt Veterinary Hospital started in 1958 and is one of the longest-running local practices in Lima. We strive to provide detailed veterinary care with modern techniques and a beautiful facility. Our facility was remodeled back in 2019, which has 5 exam rooms, a surgical suite, and in the future is working on a dental suite. Heidt was voted Best of Lima 2023 for the Best Veterinary Practice.
Our practice has 4 full-time veterinarians, who all work together. We offer medical and surgical mentorships with a fabulous team in addition to the opportunity for growth and development at a full-service practice. We strive to have a ratio of one Registered Technician and one Veterinarian Assistant per doctor. All the doctors have access to digital radiographs, laser therapy, complete in-house IDEXX labs, and ultrasound. Our practice can send out any lab work to IDEXX. Our surgeries include soft tissue, dental, and some orthopedics. Our in-house and online pharmacy provides our patients with needed supplements and RX medications or foods
Being in Lima, Ohio we are centrally located for all your needs. Being near I-75 and US 30 you are just a few hours from Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Ft. Wayne, and Indianapolis. Locally we have Johnny Appleseed Parks (with multiple locations), walking trails that stretch over several counties, and our reservoirs. Lima also has all the big town items: YMCA, Wal-Mart, Meijer, Lowes, Sam's Club, Biggby, Buffalo Wild Wings, and more. There are many wineries and breweries within a short driving distance as well. Lima also has the Original Kewpee Hamburgers restaurant still open with multiple locations Our growing downtown will not disappoint with its community and unique restaurants, you will want to call this home We are just a short drive up or down I-75 to enjoy the Detroit, Kentucky, Windsor, ONT, Canada areas plus Toledo and Lake Erie Islands – Cedar Point for all your roller coaster thrill seekers Take a short drive down US 33 to Columbus where you will find even more parks for hiking, and biking, not to mention COSI, and sports galore with The Ohio State University, NHL Blue Jackets, and many more minor leagues in any other sport you can think of
If you're an individual who strives to work with a highly skilled & educated team to provide quality care to patients, look no further and apply today No Sundays, overnight, or after-hours calls. Our hours of work are 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. It would be a 4 day a week with every other Saturday working schedule, this includes a day off in the week. There is a local Emergency Clinic in town for overnight emergencies to help you for those end-of-day emergencies. We want to serve our clients and patients with extraordinary care and personal relationships with our clients throughout the lifetimes of their pets. Secondly, we want to educate the community on preventive and wellness care, all of which are necessary for maintaining our community of healthy pets.
We are looking for experienced or new graduates as this is a practice you can grow into while learning from the best and having fun while doing it We offer additional mentoring in surgery and medicine.
