General purpose of the job

To maintain reliability of all plant Instrument /electrical equipment to 98% target, while maintaining the plant's production requirements. Assist plant teams in operability, maintainability and commissioning of new electrical and instrumentation installations.

Individual accountabilities
  • Assign jobs and tasks ensuring the availability of tools, parts, supplies and equipment. Define clearly the scope of work, tools and materials to complete each job efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct field supervision to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of direct reports.
  • Provide technical expertise as required to both mechanical and electrical resources.
  • Ensure electrical and instrument work is executed in compliance with Plant safety procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate departmental resources to effectively resolve emergent issues in a timely manner,
  • Executes the electrical and instrument backlog in CMMS, prioritize work orders and planning activities to achieve optimum plant results.
  • Proactively manage quarterly audit information and history files of instruments and electrical apparatus pertaining to plant operations( i.e. continuous emission monitoring equipment, environment equipment, NEC code regulations, MSHA, maintenance and repair history)
  • Continuously evaluate spare parts availability and recommend stocking levels.
  • In conjunction with the planner, establish and maintain a system for proper storage of pre-works and parts for pending work.
  • Remain up-to-date on new technologies and techniques as related to the incumbents work.
  • Competent in SAP, Word, Excel, and other programs as they relate to the work at hand.
  • Carry out the development and implementation of electrical/instrumentation improvements' and modifications as a result of corrective actions or as requested by other departments.
  • Control the use and co-ordinate the work of outside electrical contractors ensuring compliance to all health and safety rules and regulation.
  • Assist in annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting.
    • Maintain the electrical / instrument systems reliability.
    • Ensure equipment files, and history logs are complete and accurate.
    • Maintain and ensure execution of the Predictive and Preventive Maintenance programs for Instruments and electrical equipment.
    • Ensure efficient execution of the day-to-day business within the responsibility area.
    • Maintain record keeping of daily activities and applicable operating data.
    • Communicate the results of the daily activities to Production department and mechanical staff.
    • The Inspection scope can be defined as ensuring that all inspection results are carried out to a standard, and that all information is compiled and returned to the records file for future reference.

      Technical knowledge and certifications

      Training: Electrical / Instrumentation related field

      Technical knowledge and certifications: electrical systems including VFD Drives, Power Distribution Equipment, Control Circuits, Instrumentation and PLC's

      Area of experience

      Electrical and Instrumental Systems in Heavy Manufacturing environment

      Languages

      English

      Annual Salary Range from $67,299 to $93,472
