Actuarial Intern

As an intern, you will have responsibilities similar to those of an analyst, such as analyzing low to mid-level actuarial projects, updating and developing actuarial models, and presenting results. You will gain knowledge of various actuarial concepts and enhance your skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and SQL.
Job Description:JOB SUMMARYAs an intern, you will perform tasks similar to those of an analyst, including analyzing low to mid-level actuarial projects, updating and developing actuarial models, and presenting results. You will learn various actuarial concepts and improve your skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and SQL.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Work under the supervision of an Actuarial Analyst, handling assigned tasks and projects which may range from routine to complex.
- Support in developing and maintaining Excel and SQL-based actuarial models.
- Conduct statistical analyses on various variables to predict future healthcare costs.
- Utilize innovative approaches for analysis.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on methods, results, and findings.
- Present project work in internal meetings.
- Additional duties as required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to solve complex problems independently.
- Strong communication skills.
- Motivated and eager to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Capable of multitasking under deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Currently enrolled in a relevant college program.
- Highly motivated and quick learner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based technologies.
- Eligible to work in the US.
- Various physical activities like standing, walking, and sitting.
- Occasional lifting and moving of objects.
- Utilization of vision and focus.
- Interaction with technology and communication devices.
- Problem-solving and interpersonal interactions.
- Presenting to different audiences.
- Work environment with moderate noise levels.
- Open office setup with occasional deadline stress.
