Department Overview
Our St. Paul 6th floor is a 26-bed unit caring for children ranging from infants to young adults with acute and chronic medical conditions.
Specializing in diabetes, respiratory conditions, surgical post-operative care, and urological surgery, our team provides medical stabilization for children with eating disorders through the Center for the Treatment of Eating Disorders.
With interdisciplinary teams including child life specialists, social workers, dietitians, and more, our focus is on delivering exceptional care while fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
Position Summary
- Provides safe patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Maintains equipment and supplies according to unit standards.
Completion of a nursing assistant course or relevant experience is required, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- One year of prior Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
- Organizational and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
- Basic computer operation skills.
