About the Role

Crunchyroll LLC is on the lookout for a passionate and seasoned Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to elevate our engineering team. As a Senior SDET, you'll be instrumental in ensuring our software products are of the highest quality and reliability. You will be a vital part of the development team, advocating for top-tier test methodologies and best practices, providing feedback on developer-authored tests, and expanding automated test coverage with comprehensive end-to-end system-level tests. This role will report into the Engineering Manager.

We are considering applicants for remote and our office locations of Culver City, Dallas, and San Francisco.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software development and testing
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. JS/TypeScript, Java, Swift, Go)
  • Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum

Pluses

  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured)

A Day in the Life

  • Mentorship & Best Practices: Lead and mentor on test methodologies, fostering a culture of quality.
  • Comprehensive Testing: Conduct testing for complex web, mobile, API, and backend services.
  • Coverage Enhancement: Review existing test coverage, identifying and addressing gaps.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and design teams to translate requirements into effective test cases.
  • Automation Development: Evaluate, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Strategic Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance the test automation strategy's effectiveness.
  • Performance Testing: Develop and execute performance and load tests to ensure application scalability.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, providing feedback to enhance code and test quality.
  • CI/CD Management: Triage CI/CD and automation test failures.
  • Regression Testing: Perform regression testing upon issue resolution.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest testing tools and strategies.
