Job Summary:

A Banquet Bartender will prepare and serve cocktail orders that are appealing to guests in a timely

manner. Also have basic knowledge of bar terminologies, drink recipes, drink and wine specials, and

liquor laws.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Monitor the quality and consistency of all beverages served.

Meet service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction; respond to guest questions or

problems in a timely, professional manner.

Meet resort standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality;

report to work and return from breaks on time; give advance notice when absence is

anticipated; require typical amount of supervision; accept work assignments without

complaints.

Prepare and arrange food or drinks that are attractive and appetizing to guests; receive few

complaints about the food or beverages served and meet service standards.

Follow resort audit standards for cash handling; keep accurate amounts in cash

drawer/apron; report tips accurately; give proper change; accurately post changes to guest's

room; accurately calculate guest check totals; advice manager of shortages.

Clock in/out daily for schedule and lunch. No overtime will be permitted without prior

consent of the GM or AGM.

Always keep work areas clean and organized and report all unsafe conditions immediately.

Prepare and serve cocktails in a timely manner.

Clean bar, bar walk ins, and liquor storage areas, as assigned.

Set lounge and hor d'oeuvre tables, as assigned.

Balance bank and daily receipts.

Check guests for proper identification.

Detect and act upon customer inebriation as trained.

Exposure to noise and vibrations from loud music, chemicals, and fumes when cleaning

Work a variety of hours, varied tasks under varied conditions

Education and Experience:

One year of bartending experience preferred

Working knowledge of drink service and bar terminology

Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable

Read, write, and speak English fluently.

Display basic knowledge of operation of computers.

Meet the minimum age requirement of jurisdiction.

Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.

No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of others.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time on various surfaces including tile, carpet, and rubber

mats.

Frequently carry trays overhead, reach for overhead supplies, maneuver through crowds.

Climb stairs, ramps, and stepladders.

Bending knees to serve orders at tables and retrieving glassware and other dishes.

Occasionally crouching to clean and stock supplies.

Ability to carry beer tubs, food and beverage trays, ice buckets, supplies, liquor containers.

Move chairs and tables. Life average weight of 20 lbs; maximum 50 lbs.
