Position Summary
The William & Mary School of Education invites applications for a clinical, non-tenure eligible positions in counselor education to start in the Fall 2024 semester. This is a full-time, twelve-month, position whose primary responsibility will consist of teaching in the online counselor education program. Courses in the online counseling program (except for fieldwork) are taught over 7.5-week terms. The online counseling program includes concentrations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Military & Veterans Counseling. The focus of this position is to contribute to the School Counseling program area.

The clinical assistant professor faculty position is part of the CACREP accredited Counselor Education program, housed within the School Psychology and Counselor Education Department. In addition to the concentrations in the online program, the on-campus program has concentrations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in either Addictions Counseling, Military & Veterans Counseling, or Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling; and School Counseling. The program also offers a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counselor Education and Supervision.

Responsibilities
The candidate for this position will be expected to teach eight three-credit online courses, remotely, in a calendar year (summer teaching responsibilities are included as this is a 12-month position). Additionally, responsibilities will include student advisement, course development and maintenance, attending and assisting at on-campus residencies, attending on-campus events, synchronous teaching/meeting requirements, completion of required faculty trainings, and supporting departmental projects and accreditation (e.g., opportunities to engage in collaborative research projects are welcomed).

Required Qualifications
1. An earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited Counselor Education & Supervision doctoral program by the time of appointment (August 2024);
2. A clear and well-articulated counselor educator identity;
3. Current state School Counselor licensure or certification and/or ability to obtain licensure or certification;
4. Direct experience in School Counseling at the elementary and/or secondary levels;
5. Online teaching experience;
6. Demonstrated commitment to issues of social justice advocacy and diversity; and,
7. Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Prior experience supervising master's level counseling trainees in a school counseling setting;
2. Experience developing online teaching content;
3. Prior experience with CAEP accreditation;
4. Prior experience with CACREP accreditation and the 2016 Standards.
