Description
The Department of Philosophy seeks an adjunct instructor/adjunct assistant professor to teach an introductory course in Eastern Philosophy (Indian, Chinese, Japanese) and an introductory course entitled Life, Death, and Immortality (with a cross-cultural emphasis). Teaching experience plus PhD or ABD preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Teaching courses described above
• Grading student work
• Maintaining office hours
Qualifications
- MA in Philosophy
- PhD in Philosophy or ABD
- Previous college level philosophy teaching experience

Salary/Salary Range
$1,422-$1,669 per credit
Additional Information
Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
