Main Purpose of Job

The Virtual Curriculum Developer position is a specialized position that requires developing, planning, organizing, implementing, and administering the interpretation and application of agency policies, directives and procedures as they relate to training mandates and requirements, in accordance with the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (MPCTC) and Departmental policies and procedures.\r

POSITION DUTIES

Assessing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating online training for the Department's Entry Level Training (ELT) and In-Service Training programs.\r

Develop Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) and asynchronous learning using appropriate authoring tools (i.e., Articulate).�\r

Managing the daily operations of the HUB Learning Management System (LMS) for the Department.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work. \r
Notes: \r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. \r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.� Possession of a current Instructor Certification from the Maryland Police Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC). If you possess a current Instructor Certificate from MPCTC, please upload a copy with your application.\r
2.� At least one year of experience training adults in the Public Safety/Criminal Justice work environment is highly desirable.\r
3.� At least one year of experience assessing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating online training.\r
4.� At least one year of experience developing curriculum using an e-learning authoring tool (i.e., Articulate).\r
5.� Familiar with 508 Compliance.\r
6.� At least one year of experience managing the daily operations of the HUB or any Learning Management System (LMS).\r

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
