The Maintenance Planner & Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and coaching of the maintenance technicians. This role will leverage diagnostic, engineering, and technical skills to maximize production of plant machinery and equipment for the manufacturing facility while interacting with the production team to plan preventative maintenance and identify potential issues with equipment.

This position is responsible for the site utilities & manufacturing equipment maintenance with the overall goal of improving productivity, food safety systems, and overall plant reliability while minimizing labor and overhead costs. The Supervisor will manage and collaborate on all local capital and insure the highest levels of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all maintenance project work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and coaching of the maintenance team
  • Manage maintenance request and work orders, assigning work orders to the mechanics.
  • Responsible for delivering on metrics such as Schedule attainment, PM attainment, backlog, budget, downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
  • Evaluate and document operations, work area design, process flow and work methods for improved efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain relationship with service providers and contractors.
  • Generate reports that track Preventative Maintenance vs Reactive Maintenance and Utilities Consumption and Optimization.
  • Lead and optimize the use of continuous development of the plant CMMS system in the effort of tracking maintenance work, automatically generating preventative maintenance requests and ensure the system works in compliance with Quality standards and plant procedures.
  • Ordering spare parts, identify critical spare parts and manage the spar part inventory
  • Develop training program to technicians to improve their knowledge of plant equipment. Use OEM resources to setup lessons learned + specific training from OEM's on troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a strong system of critical spare parts to ensure quick recovery during equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure government compliance (wastewater discharge, equipment certification, storm water)

Prior Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum Associate's degree preferred
  • 5 years relevant work experience
  • Attendance record must be in good standing, less than 3 points.
  • Must be able to learn computer systems and use of scanning technology
  • Must demonstrate specific prior experience that is directly pertinent to the skills required and operation involved.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions pertinent to the process
  • SQF training, GMP training, SOP training
  • 5's Mythology
  • SAP knowledge (opening orders, consumptions and closing order)
  • LOTO training
