Nurse Manager-Research

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of a Vice President, Director, Group Practice Director and/or Physician Leadership, the individual in this position focuses on activities associated with clinical research operations. Provides clinical leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the health care team, and leadership to assure quality patient care provided in accordance with departmental, Henry Ford Medical Group and health system policies and procedures. Facilitates implementation of innovative patient care delivery models and a collaborative, multidisciplinary, team-approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. May represent the Department, Specialty, and/or Business Unit on various internal and external committees and within the community. This position will focus approximately 80% on daily operations and 20% strategy.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations
- Manages daily operations of team including research operations, business office, and staffing functions.
- Implements business plans and objectives.
- Performs personnel functions including interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals and disciplinary action, as necessary.
- Facilitates professional development and growth of RNs.
- Implements and maintains all clinical competencies for team.
- Monitors compliance with all regulatory standards, such as The Joint Commission, OSHA, MIOSHA, MDPH and Nursing Practice standards, to ensure appropriate policies, procedures and protocols are being established and/or maintained throughout the department/clinic.
- Accountable for maintenance and service of all equipment. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required. Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or equivalent preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience leading a project or team. Research experience and leadership experience preferred.
• Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
• Skilled in organizational attributes.
• Ability to communicate in writing and orally to support, direct, and work with employees, leadership, physicians, and various external audiences.
• Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets knowledge. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
• Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
• Successful completion of Henry Ford Medical Group Pharmacology test.
• Current BLS required.
