We are currently looking for a team player, someone who will thrive in a deadline driven environment, has great communication skills and leadership qualities to become a supervisor. The main purpose of this supervisory position is to oversee the performance of our auditors who will be conducting financial and compliance audits. Along with that, some other job duties include, conducting pre-audit and post-audit research, identifying questionable returns, reviewing identity theft, auditing transactions, preparing audit reports, examination and researching individual taxpayer information. As supervisor, you will also assist with the review process of tax preparers participating in Maryland's Modernized Electronic Filing ('MeF') program. Serve as the Case Management System (CAMS) Administrator for the Revenue Administration Division. Work life balance is important, this position is eligible for hybrid telework after successful completion of a probationary period.�\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by 3 credit hours in auditing.\r
Experience: Four years of experience performing financial and compliance audits of a State agency, grantee, business or other entity.\r

Applicants who had met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement.\r
Candidates may substitute the possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor or a Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university�for one year of the required experience.\r
Applicants may substitute one year of professional accounting experience for one year of auditing experience only.\r
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Internal Review classifications or Auditing specialty codes in the Financial or Auditing fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r

** For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at�\r

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the employee must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. This background check is comprehensive and may involve fingerprinting. Upon initial appointment OR promotion to a position in the State Personnel Management System, an employee is required to serve an initial six- month probationary period. This probationary period may be extended an additional six months under certain circumstances at the discretion of the appointing authority.\r
