IT Engineer

Hummingbird is a remote-first, fully distributed team united by the shared mission of helping fight financial crime. Since our launch in 2017, we've helped major financial institutions and tech-savvy trailblazers alike (e.g. Stripe, Affirm, Evolve Bank etc.) orchestrate their compliance programs through our thoughtfully designed, intuitive SaaS product. We believe finding and stopping financial crime is a problem rooted in code, language and design, so we built the product that the heroes doing this work deserve.

About the Role

As Hummingbird's foundational IT and Security hire, we are looking for someone who can build from scratch, implement IT best practices and partner cross functionally with other areas of the organization. We need someone interested in making an impact by driving IT and Security initiatives across the company. You'll have the opportunity to wear many hats and learn and grow across multiple practice areas.

What you're looking to do:

• Build and implement IT processes to enable business units across the company to do their best work and have access to the best technology solutions.
• Help manage the growing list of solutions we're using, manage access to those solutions, and ensure they are all configured with security in mind.
• Partner closely with multiple teams across the company such as HR and engineering to help create a world class onboarding experience and ensure that security protocols and configurations are set up properly.
• Have the opportunity to grow into leadership: Hummingbird is growing rapidly. As we do, there will be opportunities to take on new roles in technology, or people leadership positions.
• Help fight financial crime You're excited about our industry, and looking to make a genuinely positive impact on the world with your work.

What we're looking for:

• 3-5+ years of experience working in IT and Security, ideally for a remote-first SaaS start-up
• Experience building IT processes from scratch and implementing best practices at a remote-first company
• Experience in SOC2 processes and procedures
• Deep understanding of MacOS and Apple products
• Experience with SSO/SAML solutions such as Okta (or similar)
• Great interpersonal and problem solving skills
• The ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with multiple teams across the organization
• Experience implementing and managing a device management solution such as Jamf (or similar)
• Experience managing and configuring Google Workspace.
