For a position to begin in August of 2024, GVS is seeking a science teacher who will be an enthusiastic member of the Green Vale community. All teachers are charged with ensuring that programming reflects and aligns with The Green Vale School's mission, values, and culture.

Position Description

Qualified candidates will possess 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Green Vale seeks candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative, and adept at employing technology in the classroom. Effective writing and speaking skills, a good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Three to five years of experience as a lead teacher
  • Degree in education
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • A collaborative team player
  • Well-honed communication skills with both adults and children
  • A commitment to and knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Teaching science to elementary and middle school students
    • Content expertise in general science, specifically, Life, Earth, and Physical Science
    • Preferred expertise of content covered in the Marine Science curriculum
    • A commitment to working with students and an enthusiasm for making real-world connections through the field of science
