RN (Registered Nurse) Management: Clinical Educator

The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS and CA License.

- MUST HAVE L&D EDUCATOR EXPERIENCE
- Department: Clinical Educator L&D
- General Certification Requirements: BLS required. ACLS and PALS highly preferred.
- MSN education : Bachelors required, MSN preferred, some nursing certification is preferred (CEN, CCRN, etc), Cerner experience preferred not required.

What areas do they cover:
all units in the hospital, may be asked to assist with OB/Women's health if they have that experience.
Common types of patients & job duties: Will help with new grads, new employee orientation, will assist with lectures, will assist with skills labs and holding in-services.
May do some "just in time" education, may need to do some education at shift changes. Will assist with disseminating resources and resource development. Will be a resource to the new nurses. they may be asked to assist with preparing classes for NEO, may help facilitate classes. Extra set of hands to the education department.Experience or 'Must have' skills:
at least 3 years of experience as an RN, at least 1 year of experience in an education role.
Education could be hospital based or as a nursing instructor for an educational facility.Manager/Supervisor:
Yes- director of education available M-F
Shifts & Scheduling: 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week, may have to work a later shift to accommodate night shift at times
Are Weekends Required?:
typically no, but if they were needed on a weekend they would adjust hours during the week to keep hours at 40 hours
Are Holidays Required? no
What is the dress code:
business casual is preferred, navy scrubs are ok at times. (scrubs are typically worn during skills labs/in services/ when they are on unit).
How much orientation is provided?: 1 week of department orientation in addition to hospital/nursing orientation. Orientation will be ongoing, depending on experience, traveler will not be given tasks they aren't comfortable with.

must be adaptable, personable, confident in teaching. When on units, would not be expected to take patients, may be on units to assist with tasking or teaching
