Position Summary:
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in supporting cardiologists during diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures for adult patients. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care, overseeing and managing patient care within the cardiac cath lab, as well as other specified areas within the hospital. Besides, the Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will aid cardiologists in various invasive cardiology procedures (both diagnostic and interventional), which may include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring and documenting hemodynamic parameters following set policies and procedures. The employee will also handle the operation and result reporting using blood glucose and oxygen saturation devices in line with the established protocols.
Candidates must be adaptable to cover first shifts and longer days as required by cath lab and hospital schedules. Occasional travel to other DLP Cardiac Partners locations may be necessary.
Minimum Education
Graduate of a recognized nursing program.
Certification/License
Valid RN license in NC or a compact state with no restrictions. BLS certification is mandatory, while ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days.
Minimum Work Experience
At least two years of experience in critical care or cardiac catheterization and familiarity with hemodynamic waveforms and vaso-active medications are prerequisites. Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKGs and dysrhythmias is essential.
