Responsibilities

Revolution is currently looking for a Freight Procurement Lead to become part of our team. This role can be either remote or hybrid, but the individual must be located close to one of our company sites: Shelbyville, TN, Mesquite, TX, Little Rock, AR, or Oakdale, MN. The main tasks include managing and coordinating freight procurement for multiple sites, handling vendor selection, negotiations, distribution, and transportation for both internal and external customer needs, and ensuring that company freight and shipping targets are top priority. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of procurement and other shipping/warehouse best practices and procedures.

  • Provide support to multi-site teams.
  • Take the lead in developing and implementing freight procurement and internal fleet scheduling strategies.
  • Segment, analyze, and expand a diverse carrier network utilizing our internal TMS system.
  • Assist in monitoring key carrier performance indicators and overall performance metrics.
  • Analyze and respond to market rates on a lane-by-lane, carrier-by-carrier basis.
  • Deliver regular updates on market conditions and internal shipping forecasts on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely engagement and optimal procurement practices.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows, and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Handle any necessary documentation from freight providers (COI, Operating Authority Certificates, Contracts, etc.).
  • Capable of fostering relationships and collaborating across all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for occasional Freight Procurement and Transportation administrative duties.
Qualifications
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering), OR equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain field, preferably in freight procurement, transportation, or related area.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing procurement policies, processes, tools, and initiatives.
  • Experience managing various and complex sourcing transactions, negotiations, and contracts.
  • Proactive and able to drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating with individuals at different organizational levels.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong integrity and ethical standards.
  • Disciplined and collaborative, finding innovative ways to add value while maintaining environmental sustainability.
  • Able to perform well in high-pressure environments.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
