Summary

ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Department of Health & Health Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Southwest Region, Phoenix Area -Nursing Services- Community Health Department, Colorado River Service Unit, Position is located in Peach Springs, Arizona. Position is supervised by the Supervisory Nurse (Chief Nurse Executive).

Duties

The Colorado River Service Unit includes the oversight of Parker, Peach Springs, Supai, Moapa, and Chemehuevi Community Health Care Services. The incumbent provides oversight to the Community Health Nursing program at each site.

Major Duties:

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates overall community health nursing program and activities to meet service unit and community goals, and objectives .
• Establishes overall work schedules for clinical operation, completes performance appraisals, recruitment process, approving leave and training needs.
• Responsible for recruitment and hiring of employees, disciplines employees, identifying training needs and reviewing and updating budget for nursing services.
• Coordinates community health department activities with the local community and other agencies. Provides nurse coverage for history taking, conducting nursing assessments, triaging patients, and providing medical care to patients.
