This position is for an
Aircraft Mechanic, Position Description Number
D located in the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF #1), in Winder, GA.

This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership.

Area of Consideration:
Open to current members of the Georgia Army National Guard.

Duties

As an
Aircraft Mechanic, WG , you will:


Perform inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, post flight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections such as fuel contamination, emergency equipment, and oil sampling.


Inspect and perform functional checks such as landing gear retraction and operation checks on hydraulic, electrical, pressurization, lubrication, de-icing, vacuum, induction, and exhaust systems.


Troubleshoot and perform unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment.


Remove and replace aircraft components such as control surfaces, engines, constant speed drive, engine mounted gear boxes, wing fuel tanks or cells, landing gear mechanisms, wheels, brakes and tires.

Service oil, fluid, fuel, hydraulic, and oxygen systems. Adjust and maintain installed equipment such as tow targets, hydraulic reels, and drive assemblies.

Perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention.

Instruct, direct, and assign maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members.

Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations.


Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations such as MEI, ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises.

Perform other duties as assigned.
