This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: The position is located at the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Fleet Management Expansion (FMX), Fort Moore, GA.



Duties
  • Perform a variety of field-level maintenance for tactical training base equipment.
  • Assist mechanics in disassembly, repair, assembly, or replacement of major components and assemblies such as engines, transmissions, and/or differentials.
  • Make adjustments and set to tune-up engines, set timing, adjust brakes, or other adjustable parts using common hand or power tools and a variety of testing equipment, e.g.; feeler gauges, circuit testers hand held diagnostic equipment.
  • Read and interpret parts manuals and technical repair manuals.
  • Select tools and completes work ensuring settings and adjustments of parts meet specifications and requirements prescribed in technical repair manuals.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic test on wheeled vehicles.
