The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Project Coordinator, National Field Advocacy in our National Center office located in Dallas, Texas.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing project oversight and general administrative support for various programs/initiatives and for the national field advocacy team. This position works extensively with field advocacy advisors and advocacy field staff.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, tracks and supports field advocacy related projects as assigned.
  • Assist with development and production of campaign materials such as presentations, fact sheets, assessments, newsletters and other resources in support of field advocacy priorities.
  • Coordinate trainings, advocacy events, and meetings. Manage partnerships with coalition members, associations and stakeholders as assigned. Schedule and coordinate meetings, travel, logistics and special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate field advocacy priorities into American Heart Association-related events and other community or networking events.
  • Conduct policy research for field-based projects. Support the development of online and offline advocacy efforts, including data entry. Provide support for database management. Coordinate field advocacy related reporting, including supervising field level progress toward advocacy goals.
  • Monitors, reviews and process invoices and expenditures in various Advocacy Department budgets. Coordinates field level lobbying reports in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. May coordinate grant reports or other report documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related area.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related Project Coordination or Administrative experience.
  • Experience with internet and social media communication and marketing.
  • Prior experience with finance and/or expense management.
  • Basic knowledge of government and legislative process and agency action.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven skill in developing and giving oral and written presentations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet daily, monthly and annual goals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers and the public.
